About Immedica

Immedica is focused on the commercialization of medicines for rare and specialty diseases within Neurology, Metabolic diseases, Hematology and Oncology that have a significant unmet medical need. This is a fast-growing, entrepreneurial pharmaceutical company with several products approved and more than 140 employees across Europe, the Middle East and the US.

The role

This position is newly created and permanent, following Immedica’ s recent acquisition of a product for the treatment of a rare pediatric neurodevelopmental disorder leading to severe epilepsy. As a Medical Director within the Rare Neurology therapeutic area, you will cover primarily Europe, the Middle East and the US. The position is based at Immedica ‘s headquarters in Stockholm and will report to Head of Global Medical Affairs. Travel is required approximately once a month, primarily within Europe.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Develop the global medical strategy of the brand including the launch in EU.
  • As part of a cross-functional team, ensure the maintenance of the BLA in the US and MAA in EU by contributing to regulatory documents and processes (variations, IB updates, RMP, PSUR etc.).
  • Provide scientific input for the global value dossier, clinical studies and registries.
  • Serve as a point of contact for scientific and medical inquiries, supporting headquarters and affiliates.
  • Develop, lead and execute internal and external medical communication and training.
  • Act as medical lead for investigator-sponsored studies (ISS) and manage early access program.
  • Gather information (e.g. advisory boards)
  • Primary medical contact person for partner companies.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

Essential:

  • MD, PhD, PharmD or other equivalent scientific education
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in healthcare and/or pharma/biotech, including 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Medical Affairs experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent knowledge of health care compliance, IMA course or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Experience in neurology, particularly in epilepsy
  • Experience in Clinical Research
  • Regional or global experience
  • Fluency in Swedish at a professional level
